About Mirabelle.

A New Chapter in Fruit Wine
Mirabelle is an artisan fruit winery located in the Mahurangi region, at the northern edge of Auckland. With a dedication to flavour, sustainability, and creativity, Mirabelle crafts premium fruit wines from locally sourced ingredients—often using fruit that would otherwise go to waste. The winery blends traditional methods with a Chef’s instinct for innovation, transforming often-overlooked fruits into expressive, modern wines. Whether it’s the depth and complexity of Feijoa wine or the fresh, balanced character of a Plum Rosé, each bottle is a celebration of seasonality, craftsmanship, and pure fruit flavour.

Our Story.

A Journey That Began with a Tree
The name Mirabelle carries personal meaning: it’s the name of a small, golden plum variety that founder Torsten Glaser once made his first wine from—years before arriving in New Zealand. A trained chef with a deep appreciation for ingredients and flavour, Torsten discovered Feijoas in 2014 and quickly became fascinated by their unique, tangy-sweet complexity. What began as a seasonal hobby soon evolved into a passion. Encouraged by glowing feedback from friends and colleagues, he transformed a cellar in his Mt Eden home into a small winery and lab, honing his skills and refining his techniques one season at a time.

Where We’re Headed
Mirabelle continues to win hearts at local markets and festivals—including a standout reception at the Mangawhai Food and Wine Festival—and has earned early recognition with 2 medals at the NZ Fruit Wine & Cider Awards. But this is only the beginning. The mission is clear: to reimagine what fruit wine can be, to capture the fleeting flavours of New Zealand’s seasonal bounty, and to expand sustainably by using under appreciated fruit. With future plans including spritzers, fruit gin’s, new blends and national distribution, Mirabelle is writing the next chapter of fruit wine—one bottle at a time.

Craft, Innovation, and a Shared Vision
Mirabelle was born from a desire to share something beautiful and surprising—wines that challenge expectations and honour ingredients too often wasted. Unlike many commercial fruit wines, Mirabelle uses no concentrates, relying instead on fresh, whole fruit to preserve a more natural, pure taste. The brand’s ethos is shaped by Torsten’s background in food: a craft built on innovation and instinct. In recent years, the growing team has welcomed Amanda, whose experience in product development and scaling adds strength to the vision, and Tanveer, a finance and law graduate whose entrepreneurial drive supports the business side of growth.
